Assistant Technical Coordinator
Blue Diamond Recruitment is a specialist agency in the UK built environment sector, focusing on permanent roles within residential development, house building, land promotion and planning. As an Assistant Technical Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Design and Technical team, contributing to the successful delivery of projects across the Midlands. Reporting to a Senior Technical Coordinator, you will be instrumental in ensuring smooth coordination and administration throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing administrative and technical support to the Design and Technical team
Preparing and coordinating third-party information applications for utilities, highways, and statutory undertakers
Supporting early-stage technical investigations for site appraisals and feasibility studies
Assisting with pre-application and post-application submission preparation and collation
Providing administrative support for pre-bid technical evaluations, including constraints, actions, and opportunities
Supporting the preparation of technical documentation for land transactions and project milestones
Assisting consultant appointment processes, including scopes, fee proposals, and system updates
Liaising with external consultants to obtain timely reports and drawings
Managing document control, including printing, distribution, filing, and archiving
Supporting land registry title documentation and coordinating title overlays
Maintaining project management system records and tracking/reporting actions and deadlines
Acting as a point of contact for utility applications and related coordination
Taking ownership of personal development and training, keeping up to date with industry developments in sustainability and regulation
Developing skills across relevant software and systems
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
HNC/HND or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Design, or a similar built-environment-related discipline
Proven experience in an administrative or coordination role
Proficient with Microsoft Office, including strong Excel skills
Proficient with AutoCAD
Experience liaising professionally with external organisations and consultants
Able to work a hybrid pattern of 2 days per week in the Birmingham office and 3 days per week remote
Able to start within 1 month
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with digital document management platforms
Exposure to GIS software
Experience using project management systems to track actions and deadlines
Experience or knowledge of residential or commercial development
